Chamber Opera A fascinating, dark, beautiful and thought-provoking story conveyed through a new chamber version of Bartók’s only operatic work. Transcribed for piano and symphonic organ and translated to Norwegian, three years of work has culminated in a tour across Norway over several years.
The performance in the monumental Nidaros Cathedral (Nidarosdomen) has been greatly anticipated. It is with excitement that the ensemble has been invited to the international Trondheim Chamber Music Festival, doing its annual Friday night performance in Norway’s biggest cathedral.
Artists Hege Høisæter, mezzo soprano; Magne Fremmerlid, bass; Thormod Rønning Kvam, piano; Lars Notto Birkeland, organ. Directed by Ivar Tindberg. Video and light design by Kyrre Heldal Karlsen.
