On an Overgrown Path

  • St James's Church, Piccadilly 197 Piccadilly London W1J 9LL Norway (map)

Solo Recital After winning the prestigous Norwegian Nils Larsen debut grant, it is with great pleasure that we present this late summer evening concert with pianist Thormod Rønning Kvam in the beautiful St James’s Piccadilly.

"It is exceptional to witness a series of performancesof such consistent excellence as this gifted artist possesses (...) One hopes to hear this most gifted artist in London again soon." — The Grieg Journal, vol. 17 (2024)

Considered one of the most innovative and exciting Scandinavian musicians of his generation, Thormod will be taking us on a musical journey inspired by nature: From Robert Schumann’s evocative Waldszenen, through Leoš Janáček’s atmospheric On an Overgrown Path to his native Edvard Grieg’s monumental Ballade, this will be an interesting and varied concert programme for both new and experienced listeners. A personal message from Thormod:

The programme consists of some of my absolute favourite music — and I really cannot wait to share it all with you!
